Malaysia Purna Vidya Childrens Day Celebrations on Vaikuntha Ekadashi

This New Year was very auspicious, as Vaikuntha Ekadashi was on New Year’s Eve and across the world celebrations were conducted in temples throughout the night, we bring to you the highlights of the event in Malaysia. Ammaji had suggested to Sivamji and Maneeji to conduct the traditional Vishnu sahasranama malar vallipadu for Vaikuntha Ekadashi, which fell on 31st Dec and ended on 1st Jan, at the local Krishna temple where the PurnaVidya classes are held regularly. The 31st December evening began with a puja at 7.30 pm. PurnaVidya students sang the Divyaprpantham songs, Sri Krishnastakam and Madhuraastakam during the vandanam. Once the Puja completed the hall was swaying to the melodious bhajans sung by the PurnaVidya group, nobody noticed how quickly the hour of blissful singing completed so quickly. The senior PurnaVidya img1 Group children gave a powerful rendition of Sri Bhagvad Gita Chapter 12 shlokas to everybody’s delight, which were followed by another session of beautiful bhajans. It was nearing 10 pm and the temple management arranged for prasadam to provide source of energy to the children. After the short break the children joined another group of singers who were singing devotional songs till midnight. As per Ammaji’s suggestion the Sri Vishnu Sahasranama archana was done to our joy, as the first activity on 1st January 2015. The temple management were very kind to provide the necessary material along with the utsava murthy. Everybody in the temple were informed by Sivamji on the importance of Ekadashi Vrata and the benefits of reciting the Lords name constantly. The story of King Ambarisha and Gajendra Moksha, two great devotees of Lord Narayana was used to explain to the children, how the lord protects his devotees. This Archana was being conducted for the first time and the management requested to have Sahasranama archana once a month during Ekadashi by the PurnaVidya Group, another blessing to all the devotees of the temple. After the Archana the group sang for the next few hours and around 4 am the auspicious time to open the Vaikuntha vassal (gate to Vaikuntha) approached. A traditional procession of the Bhagavan was carried around the temple. Silently the Lord’s name was being chanted as the gathering slowly started their way out of the temple, after the morning Prayers, as a beautiful sunrise was on the horizon, with a new beginning with blessings for one and all.
