10th Jan 2016 – Purna Vidya Inauguration in Belfast

All the guests and children assembled in Belfast city centre just after noon for another memorable event. The occasion was to celebrate the anniversary of Sudarshanam Hindu Samajam in Belfast. The programme began with prayers by children followed by lighting the lamp by Mr Suresh Somayajula, Mrs Aarthi Ananthnarayan, Dr Umesh, Mr Surendra Varma & Mrs Geetha Shabu. A beautiful and rhythmic Ganapathi Vandanam in the traditional Kuchipudi style was performed by Harshita. Dr Umesh welcomed the guests and explained how the community has benefitted by coming together in Belfast.  The local police department officials were felicitated by Dr Umesh.

With blessings from Ammaji, Suresh Somayajula explained the ethos of the Indian culture and why it was necessary to educate the children, the wisdom of the rishis and the importance of Purna Vidya books and classes in their daily life. A short video was shown to all on the activities of the Purna Vidya foundation. The Mrs Aarthi Ananthnarayan then gave a short speech on the importance of the Indian classic music and Carnatic music lessons was inaugurated by her. On behalf of Purna Vidya Mr Suresh Somayajula was presented with a Ponnada & Momento by Mr Sreejesh Nair. The activities for the day were concluded with Bhajans and light refreshments.
