“To be who you really are, you need to let go of what you are not.” Swamini Pramananda
Yin Yoga is a quiet practice of Hatha Yoga, where the focus is on releasing tension in the mind and the body, not on building up muscular strength. In Yin Yoga, poses are held with passive musculature during several minutes until a positive impulse can sink deep into all layers of the body’s fascial structure. Physically, this impulse enhances range of movement; energetically, it stimulates the Meridian system, which creates an increased energy flow and balanced harmony throughout the body.
On a deeper level, Yin Yoga releases tensions that have built up in our mental and emotional systems. The practice of Yin Yoga emphasizes silence and calmness, preparing the body and mind for a deeper entry into meditation. Knowledge of the Vedas offers the practitioner support in that process.
