Purna Vidya Foundation invites you to a one-month Residential Vedānta Course, rooted in the Gurukula tradition, a way of life where learning is sacred, and the student-teacher relationship is central to transformation. This immersive experience offers seekers a deep dive into the heart of Advaita Vedānta, guiding them toward inner clarity, balance, and spiritual awakening.

Led by Swamini Pramananda (Ammaji) – a revered teacher and spiritual visionary with over 40 years of experience, this program offers teachings that are deeply rooted in the scriptural tradition while remaining highly relevant to modern life. Ammaji’s clarity, warmth, and ability to communicate profound truths with simplicity make her guidance truly transformative.

You will also receive spiritual guidance from Swami Siddhabodhananda, a senior Pāṇinian Sanskrit and Vedānta teacher, whose wisdom and quiet leadership in the Gurukulam are a source of inspiration to all.

Arulji, a resident Acharya, guides Vedic chanting, rituals, and the teachings of sacred culture.

Who are the Teachers?

Swamini Pramananda — Vedānta Teacher for the Course

Swamini Pramananda (affectionately known as Ammaji) is the spiritual guide and visionary founder of Purna Vidya, based in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. For over four decades, she has been sharing the timeless wisdom of Oneness and Harmony with seekers across the globe.

A distinguished Vedānta teacher and Sanskrit scholar, Ammaji’s teachings are rooted not only in scriptural mastery but also in direct experiential understanding. Her clarity, compassion, and eloquence have made her one of the most respected voices in the Vedic tradition.

Ammaji spent more than a decade teaching residential Vedānta and Sanskrit courses in the gurukulams of her revered teacher, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati. Today, she continues to inspire students from all walks of life to live with awareness, inner freedom, and a deep connection to the universal vision of Vedānta.

Swami Siddhabodhananda — Spiritual Guide and Sanskrit Teacher

Swami Siddhabodhananda brings over 40 years of experience as a teacher of Vedānta and Sanskrit. A student of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, Swamiji began teaching Sanskrit while studying Vedānta in Northern California during a three-year gurukulam-style course (1979–1982).

Following this, he taught extensively at Pujya Swamiji’s gurukulams and also served in various administrative capacities. His depth of knowledge and quiet leadership continue to guide students on the Vedāntic path.

Sri Arulji — Vedic Chanting & Ritual Training

Sri Arulji, a resident Acharya of Purna Vidya, is known for imparting spiritual wisdom in Tamil. His expertise in classical Tamil texts such as Tirumantiram, Tiruvācagam, Tēvāram, and Tirumurai enables students to connect deeply with their timeless teachings.

He conducts residential Vedānta programs and short-term courses and also trains teachers and parents in culture-based value education as part of Purna Vidya’s Vedic Heritage Teaching Program. Additionally, he guides the student community through various outreach initiatives of Purna Vidya.

A Typical Day

Set in the serene rhythm of gurukula culture, each day is designed to nourish the body, mind, and spirit. The schedule offers a balanced blend of study, practice, reflection, and quietude within a natural, supportive environment.

Who Can Join?

No prior knowledge of Vedānta is required. Classes are conducted in English and are suitable for anyone who can read and understand the language. All levels are welcome for Yoga and Sanskrit classes.

Accommodation & Food

  • Comfortable and spacious two- or three-sharing rooms with attached bathrooms and solar hot water
  • High-speed Wi-Fi and safe RO drinking water
  • Wholesome sattvic vegetarian meals served three times a day
  • Tea and herbal teas
  • Clean surroundings and a quiet atmosphere conducive to focused learning

Contribution for Food & Accommodation

  • ₹15,000 for Indian citizens
  • $250 for international participants

All teachings are offered completely free of cost, in keeping with the gurukula tradition. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

How Can I Contribute to Purna Vidya’s Mission?

  • Voluntary donations are welcome to support the operational needs of the ashram
  • At the end of the course, participants may offer Guru Dakṣiṇā—an expression of gratitude, offered freely from the heart
  • Contributions toward Himalayan charitable projects under the trust are gratefully accepted
  • Support through seva—such as IT, publishing, design, or time—is also welcome
